S'moreology was created with the intent of bringing a fun childhood memory back to life using wholesome and hand-crafted ingredients in a new and unique way. The concept began in February 2018 when Noelle Ramirez and her wife Amy Ramirez wanted to start a new venture to bring people together through artisan treats. The dream was to reintroduce s’mores in a new, gourmet and wholesome way like you’ve never seen before.
They spent weeks creating recipes, menus, and a brand. After many R&D sessions, taste tests and photoshoots, S’moreology officially launched in June 2018 at Rooftop Cinemas in Downtown Los Angeles. Their hand-crafted s’mores were an immediate hit and long lines formed to try their unique s’more combinations.
Noelle & Amy continued their journey and joined many other outdoor movie events including Street Food Cinema and Skyline Cinema. As the holidays drew near, so did the demand for catering. S’moreology offered various catering packages from a self-serve s’mores stations to a full serve s’mores bar with s’moreologists to work their blow torching magic. They have been honored to cater many weddings, birthdays, anniversaries as well as large corporate events for Netflix, CBS, NBC, FOX, and Viacom.
In March 2019, S'moreology was invited to join Smorgasburg, an open-air market in DTLA, which draws over 10k attendees every Sunday. The sweet treats were a huge hit for local Angelenos and tourists. The hustle and bustle of Smorgasburg was very exciting and demand for their artisan s’mores continued to grow.
S'moreology was given the opportunity to work with Capital One & Thrillist to promote the Capital One Savor Card featuring their s’mores as a dessert you have to try. They were also highlighted on KTLA 5’s morning news as a “Must Try S’mores Treat in Los Angeles”.
In March of 2020, Smorgasburg temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Noelle and Amy decided to completely pivot their business model by offering s'mores kits through local contactless deliveries and nationwide shipping with GoldBelly. Making quick changes and having the support of loyal customers and Instagram followers has allowed S’moreology to weather this storm. Noelle and Amy are hopeful 2021 will be much brighter and are looking forward to the day we can all come together again and enjoy artisan s’mores.
